Frequently asked questions

What is Nexus?

Nexus is the CRM (customer relationship manager) for Experienced Craft Labs (ECL). It keeps the companies you work with (Accounts), the people there (Contacts), and your notes, tasks, meetings, and files in one shared place.

How do I sign in?

Open Nexus and enter your Email and Password on Sign in to Nexus, then click Sign in. An admin must create your user first. You stay signed in on that browser until you sign out.

How do I find a record quickly?

Click Search in the top bar or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows). Type part of a name. Results are grouped into Accounts and Contacts as you type. Use the arrow keys and Enter, or click a result.

Why doesn't Search find my notes or tasks?

Search looks at account and contact names. Open the record to see its notes and meetings on the Activity card. Tasks show on Home under Upcoming tasks.

How do I add a record?

Click the blue + in the top bar and pick Account, Contact, Meeting, Note, or Task. Fill in the required fields (marked with a red star) and click the blue button at the bottom.

Where is the Edit button?

There isn't one. On a record, click the value you want to change. Click the check mark (or press Enter) to save, or the X (or press Escape) to cancel.

What does Resource on Home mean?

Resource is the person whose work Home shows. It is based on who owns each account. It starts as you if you own accounts, otherwise All. Changing it updates every card on Home.

Who shows up under Last contacts?

Active accounts with an Account type of Prospect or Customer that the selected Resource owns. Last meeting and Last contact show a dash (—) when there is no date yet.

What does "Unassigned" mean?

The record has no owner. Records also move to Unassigned when an admin archives or deletes the user who owned them.

How do saved views work?

On Accounts or Contacts, set your filters, click View, then Save filter and give it a name. Pick the name from View to use it again. Rename, Update, and Delete appear in the menu while a view is on. Saved views live in your browser only.

How do I mark a task done?

Nexus does not have a way to edit or complete tasks yet. New tasks show on Home under Upcoming tasks.

What files can I attach?

PDF, images (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP), text and CSV, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, up to 10 MB each. Use + on the Files card of an account or contact.

Can I collapse the left menu?

Yes. Click the arrow next to Nexus CRM. The menu shrinks to icons; hover for names. Nexus remembers your choice on that browser.

What is the round bug button in the bottom-right?

It sends a bug report or feedback. Pick Bug or Feedback, add a Title and Description, optionally Capture this screen, and click Send to GitHub. Reports are listed on Settings → Issues. Nexus files a GitHub issue on GITHUB_ISSUES_REPO (default Daryl11/nexus). A repository whose name is the previous product is refused. The server token is fine-grained: Issues read and write, and no Contents. An optional screenshot is stored in the private Supabase record-files bucket and opens for signed-in admins.

Can a contact belong to more than one account?

No. Each contact belongs to exactly one account.

What format do phone numbers and websites need?

Phone numbers need 10 US digits (a leading 1 is fine). Nexus saves them as (555) 010-0100. A contact's phone is required; an account's is optional. Websites must look like example.com. If you leave off https://, Nexus adds it.

Can two contacts share an email?

No. Each contact's email must be unique. You will see "Email already in use."

Why does the Accounts list show someone else's email?

Email and Phone on the Accounts list belong to the account's Primary contact. Set the primary contact on the account record.

What do Active, Inactive, and Archived mean?

They are the Status of an account or contact. Inactive and Archived accounts can't be picked for a new contact, and only Active accounts appear under Last contacts on Home. The Contacts list shows Active people unless you change Status.

Where do I change account types, industries, or contact types?

Admins open Settings → Module settings and open the Accounts or Contacts section.

Where are deals, products and services, and agreements covered?

To follow. These articles will be completed once those features ship: Deals, Products and services, Agreements.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

On the sign-in page, click Forgot Password. Enter your email and click Send reset link. Open the email, click the link, and choose a new password (at least 8 characters) on Set a new password.

How do I change my own password?

Sign out, then use Forgot Password on the sign-in page. Admins can set a password for someone else from that person's profile, but not for themselves.

Why doesn't my name open Settings?

Your name opens your profile. Settings is the heading in the left menu with its pages listed underneath.

What does "Sign in as" do?

Admins can act as a teammate from Settings → Users so Home and ownership look the way that person sees them. An Acting as bar appears; click Stop to return.

Who can delete records?

Admins can delete any account or contact with the red trash icon or the row's three-dot menu. Members follow Settings → Access (All or Own). Deleting an account also deletes its contacts.

Can I restore something I deleted?

No. Deleted records are listed on Settings → Recycle bin, but they cannot be restored.

Can I send email from Nexus?

Yes, after you connect Gmail under Settings → Email or on your profile. Email on a contact, account, or deal sends from that mailbox, and the message is logged on the timeline. See Email.
